Build a competitive CRS profile, get an invitation to apply, and move one step closer to Permanent Residence.

A points-based pathway for skilled workers (Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades, Canadian Experience Class) using the CRS system and periodic invitation rounds.

Who it’s for

Skilled workers in NOC TEER 0–3 aiming for Permanent Residence via a competitive CRS score.

How it works

Create a profile → Enter pool → Receive ITA if you meet draw cut-off → Submit e-APR.

Eligibility (High Level)

  • Language test (IELTS/CELPIP/TEF/TCF)
  • Education (ECA for foreign credentials)
  • Skilled work experience (NOC TEER 0–3)
  • Admissibility (medical & security)

Steps

  1. 1 Create an Express Entry profile and enter the pool.
  2. 2 Improve CRS (language, ECA, work experience, provincial nomination).
  3. 3 Receive an ITA and submit your PR application (e-APR).

Ways to Boost CRS

Language

Retake language tests to reach higher CLB levels (CLB 9+) and unlock major CRS points.

Education

Complete an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for your foreign degree or diploma.

Experience

Gain additional skilled work experience, inside or outside Canada, to earn more CRS points.

Provincial Nomination

Apply for a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) — a nomination adds up to +600 CRS points.

💡 Tip: Small improvements across multiple factors can combine to make your CRS profile highly competitive.

The CRS is a points model used to rank Express Entry profiles based on factors like age, education (ECA), language results, skilled work experience, and adaptability. Higher scores improve your chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

Express Entry manages three programs: Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Federal Skilled Trades (FST), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC). Generally, you need valid language test results, an Educational Credential Assessment (if educated outside Canada), and recent skilled work experience (NOC TEER 0–3), plus medical/security admissibility.

  • Improve language scores (aim for CLB 9+ where possible).
  • Get an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for foreign degrees/diplomas.
  • Gain more skilled work experience.
  • Secure a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) nomination for a large points boost.

A job offer isn’t mandatory, but a valid offer (and in some cases LMIA) can add points to your CRS and improve your chances of receiving an ITA.

Yes. You can include your spouse or common-law partner and dependent children in your application for Permanent Residence.

Invitation rounds are held periodically. When your CRS meets or exceeds the cut-off for a given draw, you may receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
