Designated Organization Types

Venture Capital Funds

Equity investment commitment (per current program rules) with growth mentorship.

Angel Investor Groups

Seed investment and early traction guidance from angel networks.

Business Incubators

Incubation/acceleration programs offering workspace, advisors, and networks.

Note: Each designated organization has its own intake criteria and timelines—align your pitch and traction accordingly.

An IRCC-designated Venture Capital fund, Angel Investor group, or Business Incubator authorized to issue Letters of Support for SUV applications.

Requirements vary by designated org type. VC/angel support usually involves an investment commitment; incubators provide a support letter upon program acceptance.

Up to five founders per business can be included if each is critical to the venture and meets the SUV criteria, including ownership and language requirements.

Many founders apply for a work permit tied to the startup while the PR application is in process, allowing them to build traction in Canada sooner.
